NSCAC STAGES SECOND SPRING CLINIC
Thornhill SC hosted a second successful June clinic for NSCAC member coaches
The NSCAC’s second spring clinic took place this past Saturday in Thornhill, ON. As a bonus to our member coaches, because of the previous month’s postponement, a second clinic was added just a week after our first official Kickoff Clinic was held on June 3, also in Thornhill. NSCAC National Staff Head Coach Tony La Ferrara, Thornhill Technical Director and NSCAC Director of Coaching Kosmas Mouratidis, and Soccer Fitness Inc. owner and Fitness Coach Richard Bucciarelli (pictured below, from left to right) combined to engage member coaches in an informative and educational clinic.
Three unique sessions from three top clinicians
NSCAC National Staff Head Coach Tony La Ferrara (pictured at left) led off the clinic with a session on “Decision Training”. Working with Thornhill SC’s U-14 boys, Tony emphasized spatial awareness and prioritized the elements of first touch and turning under pressure.
Tony was followed by our feature guest clinician, sports scientist Richard Bucciarelli (pictured at left & below), of Soccer Fitness Inc., who conducted his unique session on “Speed, agility and quickness”. Richard put his group through their paces with competitive drills emphasizing creativity and integrity while executing his specialized exercises at speed.
Concluding the clinic was Thornhill SC’s Technical Director and NSCAC Director of Coaching Kosmas Mouratidis (pictured at left & below), who demonstrated the need for players to recognize multiple options on set pieces, from corners to free kicks to throw-ins.
The NSCAC member coaches in attendance were given opportunities to interact with each of the three coaches and ask questions during their sessions.
