Canada Soccer attends coaches symposium hosted by CONCACAF, FMF
Canada Soccer were among 35 CONCACAF nations represented by a national team coach in Toluca, Mexico in January as the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) and CONCACAF presented a joint Coaching Education Excellence Program.
Joey Lombardi attended on behalf of Canada Soccer. A series of lectures and practical sessions on organizational and Liga MX structure, technical and tactical curriculum, nutrition, youth national team systems, and physical preparation were presented.
“Coach education is a journey not a destination,” said Canada Soccer Director of Development Jason deVos. “It is important that our national coaching staff continue to develop their skills by learning from and employing the best practices of technical departments throughout CONCACAF and the world.”
In addition to technical sessions, technical staff attended a Mexican League Cup match, and toured Estadio Nemesio Diez ahead of its opening for the 2017 Club Toluca Liga MX season.
